Dawnus Construction

Dawnus shortlisted for BCIA prize

The Exmouth Dock and Sea Wall project is one of only 5 schemes to be shortlisted in the Small Civil Engineering Category (projects up to £3m) of the British Construction Industry Awards to be announced in October 2008.  The BCI awards are considered as amongst the most prestigious in the industry calendar and are rigorously judged on concept, delivery, planning and construction.

The project to construct a new sea defence wall in Exmouth Docks included the demolition of the existing sea defences and the installation of a new sheet piled retaining wall with reinforced concrete capping beam. A section of insitu concrete wave wall was also constructed and rock amour placed to prevent scour to the front face.  A new promenade was created behind the wall including decorative fencing, street lighting and paving to complete the regeneration.
