CUBRIC Building, Cardiff University

The Cardiff University Brain and Repair Imaging Centre features the latest brain scanning technologies and is one of the first in the UK to combine their use solely for research.

More than £10million has been invested in the building work and state-of-the-art imaging facility which is housed in a landmark three storey building situated in the centre of the University campus in Cardiff. The work involved the demolition of an existing split-level building within University Quadrangle.

The project involved piling and new foundations within basement areas, construction of the structural steel frame with high specification cladding, glazing and trocal roof. Dawnus were awarded a subsequent contract to full fit out of the building shell and linked access to the existing facilities.

All work on this extremely restricted site was undertaken whilst the University remained fully operational
