Portfield Special School, Haverfordwest
|
This project involves the construction of a single storey specialist need school of approximately 2050m2.
It involves traditional construction a mixture of steel frame and insulated blockwork with underfloor heating. The floors will incorporate embedded signal cables to allow specialist powered wheelchairs to move unaided safely through the building.
A hall and Hydrotherapy pool are included as well as the various specialist sensory rooms, administration, teaching and catering facilities.
The school will also benefit from a borehole to reduce it’s dependence on supplied water and provide for it’s sophisticated sprinkler system.
External works will include the modification of existing roads and the inclusion of new car parking and landscaped garden areas contained within new external fencing and gates.
