Cefni Footbridges, Anglesey
|
Partnering contract to construct 1.5 km of shared use footpath, The scheme involved site clearance in an ecologically and environmentally sensitive area with restricted access. Crushed slate was imported to form the paths, a result of an alternative proposal made by Dawnus.
Structures were designed, fabricated and installed by our supply chain partners CTS Ltd, and included a 36m span modified Pratt truss bridge crossing of the Gaerwen to Amlwch railway line, a 120m long and a 40m long boardwalk and a further 12m span crossing of the river Cefni at Bodfordd. Dawnus undertook the design of all foundations and crane platforms, including a 2000 cubic metre reinforced earth embankment, which forms an access ramp and support to the Amlwch Railway Line footbridge.
