Dawnus in Senegal
In January 2012 Dawnus began a major new project in Senegal. The US$20m (£12m) project for Mineral Deposits Limited, involves earthworks for a 25km road and rail project in support of the Grande Côte Project, a titanium and zircon mining operation. The project runs between the capital, Dakar, and St Louis.
The project will run for 8 months, and the team will be working day and night to meet the project milestones.
As with our projects in Sierra Leone, Dawnus have employed a local workforce in Senegal under fair trade conditions, and we have provided training to European standards in a variety of disciplines. We have sent over 40 items of plant to Senegal, including bulldozers, excavators and dumpers.
