The £57m Eastern Bay Link Road scheme involved the design and construction of a new 1.2km section of the A4232 in Cardiff Bay, 700m of which was in the form of a viaduct. The project was awarded as a Joint Venture (JV) with Dawnus acting as Lead Partner in a 50/50 Joint Venture with Ferrovial Agroman.
Representatives from the EBL team including Dawnus, designers Capita and Cass Hayward, and WSP, the Employer’s Agent travelled to Abergele on 24th November to attend the CIHT Cymru Wales Annual Awards Dinner.
The event celebrates transportation successes across the whole of Wales, and the Dawnus Ferrovial Agroman Joint Venture collected the top award on the evening for Transportation Project of the Year.
Earlier in the month representatives from the Joint Venture also attended the Annual Concrete Society Awards Dinner at the Grosvenor Hotel in London, where the EBL project was shortlisted for the main award.
This award is the most recent in a long list of accolades for the highly successful EBL project, including 2017 NEC Awards Contractor of the Year, 2017 NEC Awards Highly Commended Project of the Year and 2017 British Safety Council International Safety Award.
