The Queen has celebrated her 91st birthday watching the races at Newbury Racecourse.
The Queen spent the day at Newbury Racecourse where she enjoyed lunch in the Royal Box and an afternoon of flat racing featuring one of her own horses.
Although it wasn’t an official visit to open the new facilities, she was given a tour by Julian Thick, Newbury Racecourse Chief Executive, of the new work carried out by Dawnus.
Dawnus is well underway with the design and construction of the new facilities, which is the first phase of multiple planned schemes which are collectively referred to as the Heartspace Redevelopment.
This new development will integrate enhanced racing and leisure with improved facilities, an enriched visitor experience and new management accommodation for staff of the racecourse.
To date Dawnus has completed works to the new pre-parade ring, which The Queen was shown on her visit, and also works to the new saddling stalls.
Full completion of all works is due in September.
