Dawnus has recently completed Phase 3 of the West Rhyl Sea Defence Scheme for Denbighshire County Council. The works are the final phase of the major upgrade to the town's sea defences to protect homes and businesses against flooding.

The project involved construction of 6700m² of concrete revetment with a sheet piled toe and a reinforced concrete crest wall. Over 2000 precast Redi-Rock blocks were used to provide a primary Sea Defence. Over 60,000m³ of sand was excavated, transported and placed behind the new defence to provide a new promenade.

The site was located on the busy sea front. Excellent liaison with the numerous residential and commercial stakeholders and the management of public interface along the promenade were key to successful delivery.
