Project Overview

The works were located south of the A470 Trunk Road near the village of Talerddig. The project comprised construction of two new bridges over the Cambrian Railway together with diversions of county roads to allow permanent closure of five level crossings. We also constructed a replacement bridge to carry the U2532 over the River Carno.

The new and diverted sections of highway, totalling around 2.5km, has been constructed as single track carriageway with passing places. The junction of the U2532, together with the A470 Trunk road, has been relocated to improve visibility on the approaches. The existing junction of U2533 has been stopped up and retained as a private means of access and the U2534/A470 junction has been stopped up and reverted to being a field access.

In addition to road and bridge construction the works included service protection, new drainage installation and stream culverting, installation of retention ponds and ancillary works.
