Project Overview

This project involved the extension of an existing Waste Transfer Station in Brecon. The contract involved undertaking all civils works and managing and supervising the construction of the new, steel framed, Waste Transfer Station building, including mechanical and electrical installation.

The work comprised the construction of a concrete slab as a foundation for the new waste transfer building. We also carried out installation of new drainage and services, footway construction, construction of a retaining wall and alterations to the existing access.

In addition we designed and installed a new weighbridge and a new automatic gate. We also installed a permanent welfare building.

All works were undertaken within the confines of the existing operational Waste Transfer Station. We liaised extensively with the Potters Waste Management team, who operate the facility. All works were programmed to ensure minimal disruption to the existing operations, accommodating significant lorry movement on a daily basis.
